I'd like to start this blog with an introduction to what will be found here in the future, what we plan to share, and the intentions we have for blogging. We are women interested in health, wellness, and tasty food. I say without hesitation that this is a group of truly passionate, inspired, knowledgeable and creative ladies, excited to share our experiences and varying perspectives on healthy raw organic and local foods, sustainable and mindful living, fitness, environmental issues and much more. We approach our goals from varying perspectives, backgrounds and points of view, and I think this will be what is so valuable about the ideas shared here. So, to get the ball rolling.. (be forewarned I enjoy idioms and metaphors, a lot)

My name is Stephany
I’m a retired art history student, gallerina, and receptionist at a Holistic Center. I am passionate about raw foods, nature, biking, and Byzantine and German history. I grew up on a S.A.D. diet - the produce drawer of our family refrigerator was typically reserved for soda can overflow. As I learned more and more about health, nutrition, and life in general, I transitioned to a vegetarian diet, then vegan, and finally high raw, and then everywhere in between. I enjoy some cooked and many raw foods. It is my goal to enjoy a happy, healthy life and reduce my environmental impact through mindful living. Luckily, living in Detroit has provided me with exceptional resources, support, and a wonderful raw foods community that I feel truly blessed to be a part of. I would like to use my posts here as a way to share those resources and ideas, and also as a personal tool to help me stay on a positive, balanced, and enjoyable path.
